White Fox Marvel Rivals Guide: Ami Han, the Kumiho Strategist
White Fox Marvel Rivals players get a Strategist who heals by fighting: Ami Han, the last of the Kumiho, a mid-range support whose healing gets bigger the closer she is to the enemy. She is a support hero, not a damage hero, but she is the kind of support who spends a good part of every fight with claws out.
That combination is why she is easy to misread. If you play her like a backline healer, parked behind the tank and firing marbles, you get a merely decent Strategist. The Marvel Rivals Wiki's strategy section, read October 21, 2026, makes the same point bluntly and calls her a semi-melee Strategist who earns her healing by closing distance. Her kit is built around a resource called Spirit Tails, a form change called Fox Form Awakening, and an ultimate that turns her into a 1,200-health nine-tailed fox.
This guide explains who White Fox is in the comics and in the game, then walks through every ability with the numbers exactly as the wiki's ability tables list them, the team-ups that are live under the current system, and her costumes. The sections on how to play her and who should pick her are our opinion as the site's editors, and they are labelled that way.
White Fox Is Ami Han, the Last Kumiho and a Season 7 Strategist
In the comics, White Fox is Ami Han, born in Seoul, South Korea. The wiki records her first appearance as *Avengers: Electric Rain* #1 in October 2014. Her heritage is the core of the character: she is described as the last of the Kumiho, the mystical lineage of nine-tailed fox spirits from Korean folklore, and the wiki's list of her powers reads like a fox legend with a spy's training on top. It includes Kumiho transformation, hypnotic charm, life-force draining, heightened senses, finger claws and animal communication.
She is also a career intelligence officer. The wiki's character section describes her as a high-ranking Director of South Korea's National Intelligence Service who keeps a stoic, professional front to manage the conflict between her duty and her supernatural side. It describes her as driven by guilt over her parents' death, trying to prove she is a protector rather than the monster she fears she is. The wiki lists her affiliations as Tiger Division, the Agents of Atlas and S.H.I.E.L.D. Her aliases include Agent F-One, Director Han and The Last Kumiho. The Agents of Atlas link carries into the game, too: her achievement "Ally Agents" asks you to land KOs alongside Agents of Atlas members.
In Marvel Rivals she is a Strategist, the support role, and the wiki lists her as the 48th hero added to the roster. She arrived with Season 7: The Hunt Is On, which the wiki dates from March 20, 2026 to May 15, 2026, with Season 7.0 starting on March 20. Black Cat was the season's other featured hero. The wiki's trivia notes the pairing draws on their comics history, specifically their team-up in *Black Cat Annual* (2021) #1 in Seoul. The official in-game description calls her the calm and capable Director of Tiger Division and "any team's unwavering backbone."
Her base health is 275, which the wiki's strategy notes call standard for a Strategist. Her English voice actor is Jennifer Sun Bell. One piece of trivia is worth knowing because you will hear it constantly: her ultimate voice line is in Korean, "Jeong-ui-ui Si-gan!", and the wiki notes it was re-recorded for Season 9 after player feedback, making her the only hero whose ultimate line has been updated after release, setting aside changes from team-ups, costumes or reworks.
Every Ability, One by One
White Fox has two ability sets, and Fox Form Awakening adds a third mode inside the first. This is the full White Fox Marvel Rivals kit, quoted from the wiki's ability tables (PC keys in brackets). Before the buttons, one resource needs explaining.
Spirit Tails. She holds up to 3. They charge passively and faster when Yeowoo Guseul lands hits. Respawning or leaving her Kumiho form restores all 3. Spectral Surge costs 1, and Fox Form Awakening needs at least 1 and drains all Spirit Tail energy when it ends.
Base form. The four abilities below are what she starts every life with.
Yeowoo Guseul (left click). Fires a Fox Marble that bounces off terrain or heroes, then homes in on a nearby hero, damaging enemies and healing allies. A direct hit deals 40 damage or heals 55. After a bounce it deals 25 or heals 40. It fires every 0.45 seconds, travels up to 35m and can bounce once, homing on the nearest target within 6m. The wiki notes it cannot deal critical hits.
Spectral Surge (right click). Costs 1 Spirit Tail, 6-second cooldown. Sends a spectral fox forward that deals 65 damage to enemies or heals allies for 65 within a 3m radius, heals White Fox herself for 50, grants allies it passes through invulnerability and Charms enemies, luring them toward her. The charm and invulnerability last 0.4 seconds in a 0.6m radius.
Spirit Sanctuary (Shift). 15-second cooldown. Teleport to a chosen ally up to 30m away, healing White Fox and allies within 5m for 50 at once and raising a 200-health shield for 5 seconds. Allies inside it, White Fox included, heal for 20 per second while it holds.
Fox Form Awakening (E). 15-second cooldown. Enter the Awakened state for 7, 8 or 9 seconds depending on whether 1, 2 or 3 Spirit Tails are consumed. While Awakened she heals nearby allies at 40 per second in a 10m radius, and every strike on an enemy adds a 25-health pulse heal in the same radius.
Awakened state. Fox Form Awakening swaps her attacks for three melee moves.
Claw Strike (left click). Replaces the marbles: 35 damage every 0.45 seconds at 4m range.
Predatory Pounce (Shift). 6-second cooldown. Dash 10m for 40 damage. Hit an enemy to Slow them and flip over them, opening a 5-second window for a second 15m dash that deals 40 and knocks enemies back.
Tail Sweep (right click). 3-second cooldown. Sweep the tails for 50 damage at 5m range, launching hit enemies upward.
Kumiho form. Her ultimate replaces the whole kit for its duration.
Kumiho Unleashed (Q). Costs 4,300 energy and lasts 10 seconds. She becomes the full Nine-Tailed Fox with 1,200 max health, continuously healing allies within 10m for 85 per second, and applies Blessing of the Kumiho to nearby allies on activation. She cannot receive healing from others in this form. If the form runs out of health, the wiki notes she reverts to her normal self immediately, which is why the strategy notes compare it to a second life.
Ninefold Slam (left click, Kumiho form). Slam the ground for 50 attack damage plus a 50-damage shockwave in a 6m radius, once per second. Hitting enemies or summons gives a 100-health pulse heal to herself and allies within 10m.
Blessed By The Nine (right click, Kumiho form). 2-second cooldown. Pick an ally up to 50m away and grant them 60 healing per second, Unstoppable and 25% lifesteal for 3 seconds.
One honest caveat on these numbers. The same wiki page's strategy prose still mentions a 900-health Kumiho form while the ability table says 1,200; the wiki's Season 9 page shows the Season 9.0 balance pass raised it from 900 to 1,200, so the prose is simply older, and an older overview line says Blessed By The Nine costs health, which Season 7 patch notes on the wiki say was removed in exchange for the 2-second cooldown. We have used the ability tables and the patch notes throughout.
Her Team-Ups Run Through Black Cat, Psylocke, Iron Fist and Luna Snow
Team-ups were overhauled in Season 9.0. Per the wiki's Team-Ups page, every hero now owns two loadouts, each tied to a partner hero. The Base Effect is always active when you select the loadout, and the Enhanced Effect turns on only when the partner is on your team. The wiki's Current Team-Ups table, read October 2026, gives White Fox these two:
Lucky Loan (partner: Black Cat). A new ability on a 25-second cooldown. White Fox receives an Orb of Life which, when used, restores 1 Spirit Tail and fires a Nine-Tailed Aura for 5 seconds that auto-tracks nearby heroes. Each hit heals allies for 15 or damages enemies for 10, and it speeds allies by 20% or slows enemies by 20% for 2 seconds. With Black Cat on the team, using the Orb also starts a 6-second window in which Spectral Surge and Fox Form Awakening cost no Spirit Tail energy.
Psionic Fox (partner: Psylocke). A passive. Fox Form Awakening no longer costs Spirit Tail energy and always runs at a 10-second duration. With Psylocke on the team, Fox Form Awakening's cooldown drops to 12 seconds.
She is also the partner hero in two team-ups owned by other heroes. Kumiho Palm belongs to Iron Fist: his Yat Jee Chung Kuen hits give nearby allies a burst of healing, and with White Fox present its lock-on distance is significantly increased. Atlas Bond belongs to Luna Snow: Luna sends out a spirit fox that Charms enemies and heals allies, cleansing her own negative effects, and with White Fox present the fox returns after reaching its maximum distance.
A note on accuracy. Older guides, and one paragraph of the wiki's own strategy section, still describe a Luna Snow team-up called Blessing of the Kumiho with a passive healing bonus. That is the pre-Season 9 version: the wiki's Season 9 page lists the removal of White Fox's 10% Team-Up Anchor healing boost in the Season 9.0 balance pass. The current table lists Atlas Bond, so that is what we have described. In the current ability table, Blessing of the Kumiho is instead the name of the effect her ultimate applies to nearby allies.
Our opinion on loadouts: Psionic Fox is the simpler one to learn because it removes the Spirit Tail bookkeeping from Awakening entirely, while Lucky Loan asks more of you and gives more back when Black Cat is actually on your team.
How We Would Play Her, and Who She Suits (Editors' Opinion)
This section is our reading of the kit and of the wiki's strategy notes, not measurement. The developer publishes no win or pick rates, and we would be suspicious of any page that quotes them.
The core rhythm of White Fox Marvel Rivals play, as we see it, is marbles to build, Awakening to cash in. Yeowoo Guseul is how Spirit Tails come back faster, and Fox Form Awakening burns them for its heal-on-hit aura. The wiki's tip is to aim marbles directly at allies when you are close together, and at the ground or a wall when aiming is hard, so the bounce finds someone. Then, when the team commits to a fight, Awakening turns her into a brawler whose every Claw Strike, Pounce and Tail Sweep pulses healing across a 10m radius. The longer you stay Awakened and hitting things, the more she heals.
Spirit Sanctuary is the button we would treat most carefully. It is her escape and her rescue tool in one, a teleport to an ally with a shield on landing. The wiki's strategy notes add that it can reach allies through walls and, timed against a telegraphed ultimate, can blunt it. We would keep it in reserve rather than spend it to reposition, because a White Fox who has used Sanctuary to get in has nothing left to get out. Her 275 health is not built for a long stay in the enemy's space.
Her ultimate is an aggressive tool, not a safe one. Unlike a stationary healing circle, Kumiho Unleashed moves with the push. Our suggestion is to pop it when the objective is contested and the team is already moving forward, then spend Blessed By The Nine every 2 seconds on whichever ally is diving hardest.
On team building, we would pair her with a Strategist who heals from the backline (the wiki's strategy notes point to Luna Snow's sustained backline output) so White Fox is free to go forward. She works best with a front line that wants to brawl, and with dive Duelists she can follow in. If your team stays far back and pokes, much of her kit has nobody to hit.
Who should pick her? Support players who are bored of healing from the back, players who like resource management, and anyone who already enjoys mobile melee heroes. Who should not? Players who want a steady, low-risk healing role. The wiki's own weaknesses list calls her skill ceiling high and her self-sustain limited unless she plays aggressively, and we agree. Our roster file rates her Medium difficulty and places her at A as community consensus. For how she sits among other supports, see marvel rivals strategist tier list, and for a primer on what the support role does, marvel rivals roles explained.
Costumes, Achievements and Where to Learn More
The wiki's cosmetics template for White Fox, read October 2026, lists these costumes: Coastal Kumiho, Cosmic Kumiho, Yoon Ji-woo: The Leader, and her Default look. Her recolors are Rosy Recon and Secret Agent, and two chromas are listed for Coastal Kumiho: Magical Mint and Pink Paws. The Season 7 page adds a nice detail: her Kumiho form's colour syncs with the Secret Agent and Rosy Recon base colours. We are not listing prices or how each was obtained, because the template does not give them and store rotations change. Check the in-game store for what is available today.
Her two hero achievements, per the wiki, are Ally Agents (as White Fox, land 10 KOs while partnered with Agents of Atlas members, 10 points) and Legacy of Tamamo (take down an enemy Psylocke as White Fox, 5 points).
If you want to practise her without committing to a full session, the marvel rivals hero randomizer lets you filter to Strategists only and spin until she comes up, which is a more fun way to get reps than forcing her every game. And if you are building a lineup around her, the marvel rivals best team comps page covers the broader composition questions this guide only touches on.
Frequently asked questions
Who is White Fox in Marvel?
White Fox is Ami Han from Seoul, South Korea, the last of the Kumiho, a lineage of nine-tailed fox spirits from Korean folklore. The wiki records her first comic appearance as *Avengers: Electric Rain* #1 (October 2014) and lists her affiliations as Tiger Division, the Agents of Atlas and S.H.I.E.L.D.
What role is White Fox in Marvel Rivals?
She is a Strategist, the support role. The wiki and our roster file agree. She is an unusually aggressive one: much of her healing comes from hitting enemies while in her Awakened state.
When was White Fox added to Marvel Rivals?
With Season 7: The Hunt Is On, which began on March 20, 2026, per the wiki. She was the 48th hero added to the roster, and Black Cat was the season's other featured hero.
How much health does White Fox have?
275 in her normal form, per the wiki. Her ultimate, Kumiho Unleashed, gives her a 1,200-health Nine-Tailed Fox form for 10 seconds according to the ability table. One older strategy paragraph on the same page still says 900, the value before the Season 9.0 balance pass raised it to 1,200.
What are Spirit Tails?
White Fox's resource. She holds up to 3. They charge passively and faster when Yeowoo Guseul hits, and they fully restore when she respawns or leaves Kumiho form. Spectral Surge costs 1, and Fox Form Awakening needs at least 1 and drains all Spirit Tail energy when it ends.
What are White Fox's team-ups?
Per the wiki's Current Team-Ups table (October 2026), she owns Lucky Loan (partner: Black Cat) and Psionic Fox (partner: Psylocke). She is also the partner for Iron Fist's Kumiho Palm and Luna Snow's Atlas Bond.
What does her ultimate voice line say?
"Jeong-ui-ui Si-gan!", which is Korean. The wiki notes it is commonly translated as "Time for justice!" and that the line was re-recorded for Season 9 at a slightly higher pitch after player complaints about the pronunciation.
Is White Fox a good hero for beginners?
In our opinion, not as a first support. The wiki lists her in its 3-Star Difficulty category and names a high skill ceiling as her main weakness. Our roster rates her Medium. She is a better second or third Strategist to learn once healing from range feels natural.
Is White Fox good right now?
Our roster file places her at A as community consensus, not measurement, and the developer publishes no win or pick rates to settle the question. Our opinion: she is strong when her team is willing to brawl alongside her, and she loses a lot of value on a team that stays back and pokes.
