Marvel Rivals Female Characters: Every Woman on the Roster

Sukie GaoBy Sukie GaoUpdated

There are 19 Marvel Rivals female characters on the current 54-hero roster: 4 Vanguards, 10 Duelists and 5 Strategists. If you also count Cloak & Dagger, a duo in which Dagger is female and Cloak is male, the figure becomes 20. Deadpool, the only multi-role hero, is listed as male.

We got those numbers the slow way. Rather than trusting a list from memory, we opened the Marvel Rivals Wiki page for every hero on the roster and read the gender field in each infobox, most recently on October 21, 2026. That matters more than it sounds, because a few heroes do not fit a neat yes or no, and Cloak & Dagger, Loki and the non-human heroes are exactly the cases where a list written from memory is most likely to slip.

The complete list is below, grouped by role, with one sourced fact per hero. After it come the edge cases, a short look at what the counts say about the roster, and answers to the questions people most often ask about the women of Marvel Rivals.

The Full List, Grouped by Role

Counts below were tallied from the Marvel Rivals Wiki on Oct 21, 2026, by reading the gender field in the infobox of every hero page, all 54 of them, rather than going from memory. Each line gives the role and one fact from that hero's wiki page, usually the order in which she joined the roster.

Vanguards (4 of 14)

- Angela (Vanguard): the 42nd hero, introduced in Season 4, "Heart of the Dragon". Her infobox real name is Aldrif Odinsdottir.

- Emma Frost (Vanguard): the 38th hero, introduced in Season 2, "Hellfire Gala".

- Peni Parker (Vanguard): the 12th hero introduced. Her wiki infobox lists two entries as female, Peni herself and "Spider", the mech she pilots.

- Rogue (Vanguard): the 45th hero, released in Season 5.5. She is a tank, not a damage hero, a role that is easy to mis-state.

Duelists (10 of 27)

- Black Cat (Duelist): the 49th hero, introduced in Season 7.5 of "The Hunt Is On", which began on April 17, 2026. Real name Felicia Sara Hardy.

- Black Widow (Duelist): the 31st hero introduced.

- Elsa Bloodstone (Duelist): the 47th hero, introduced in Season 6.5, "Night at the Museum".

- Hela (Duelist): the 19th hero introduced.

- Magik (Duelist): the 9th hero introduced. Real name Illyana Nikolaievna Rasputina.

- Phoenix (Duelist): the 40th hero, introduced in Season 3, "The Abyss Awakens". Real name Jean Elaine Grey-Summers.

- Psylocke (Duelist): the 26th hero introduced. The wiki gives her real name as Sai.

- Scarlet Witch (Duelist): the 18th hero introduced.

- Squirrel Girl (Duelist): the 29th hero introduced. Real name Doreen Allene Green.

- Storm (Duelist): the 13th hero introduced. Real name Ororo Munroe.

Strategists (5 of 12, plus Dagger)

- Invisible Woman (Strategist): the 35th hero, introduced in Season 1, "Eternal Night Falls".

- Jubilee (Strategist): the 52nd hero, introduced in Season 9.0, "The Mystery of Thebes", on July 10, 2026. She is the newest female hero on the roster.

- Luna Snow (Strategist): the 5th hero introduced, the earliest of any woman on this list. Real name Seol Hee.

- Mantis (Strategist): the 16th hero introduced.

- White Fox (Strategist): the 48th hero, introduced in Season 7, "The Hunt Is On". Real name Ami Han.

- Dagger, as half of Cloak & Dagger (Strategist): the duo is collectively the 32nd hero. The wiki lists Cloak as male and Dagger as female. See the next section for how we count them.

Multi-role (0 of 1)

- Deadpool is listed as male. There is no female Deadpool hero or costume in the game; more on that below.

Totals: 4 Vanguards + 10 Duelists + 5 Strategists = 19 female heroes out of 54. Counting Cloak & Dagger as a female-including pick makes it 20.

If you want a random pick from this group, set the role filters on the marvel rivals hero randomizer and spin; for the full roster, including all the male heroes, see the marvel rivals characters list.

The Heroes That Need an Asterisk

Five cases needed a decision rather than a lookup, and here is how each was handled.

Cloak & Dagger. The wiki treats them as a single hero, "a duo of Strategist heroes" who are "collectively the 32nd hero", and its infobox lists Cloak as male and Dagger (Tandy Bowen) as female. Forcing that into one gender would be wrong either way. We list the duo separately and give two totals, 19 without them and 20 with them, so you can use whichever fits your question. If you are building an all-women lineup for fun, picking Cloak & Dagger does put a woman on the field.

Loki. His infobox gender field reads "Genderfluid", while the personality section of the same page describes him with he and him throughout. The wiki's Lady Loki costume page says it was the first costume to change every voice line and interaction of a hero, including how other heroes refer to them, and notes that no earlier costume had ever changed a character's gender. Because the hero is not listed as female, Loki is not in our count; a Lady Loki skin changes the look and voice, not the hero.

Deadpool. His infobox lists him as male. People search for Lady Deadpool, but the wiki's Deadpool costume list (Default, Dead Mummy, Maid-Pool, Nurse-Pool, Captain Pool, Monster King and Wade Wilson: The Spirit Squad, plus Workwear Woes, X-Force?, chromas and IGNITE esports skins, as read October 21, 2026) includes no female version. The closest thing is a voice line in which Deadpool wonders aloud how beautiful he would look in a "Ladypool" skin, which the wiki reads as a nod to his female counterpart from the comics and the 2024 film. That is a joke about a skin, not a skin.

Venom. The infobox gives two entries: Eddie Brock as male and the symbiote as agender. Neither is female, so Venom is not counted.

The non-human heroes. Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Jeff the Land Shark, Devil Dinosaur and Ultron are all listed as male on their wiki pages. None of them is counted. Peni Parker is the reverse case: her mech, Spider, is listed as female alongside Peni herself, but she is one hero and counts once.

What the Counts Say About the Roster

Marvel Rivals female characters make up about a third of the roster, but the share is not even across roles. Four of the 14 Vanguards are women, ten of the 27 Duelists, and five of the 12 Strategists, rising to six of the 12 if you include Cloak & Dagger. Strategist is the most balanced role and Vanguard the least, which is worth knowing if you are trying to put together an all-women team and want a real tank: Angela, Emma Frost, Peni Parker and Rogue are your only four options. The marvel rivals roles explained page covers what each role is actually expected to do.

The release order tells its own story. Luna Snow was the 5th hero introduced, so a woman has been on the roster from the start. Of the 13 heroes numbered 42 to 54 on the wiki, six are women: Angela, Rogue, Elsa Bloodstone, White Fox, Black Cat and Jubilee. Season 7 is the clearest example, with both of its new heroes being women, White Fox opening the season and Black Cat arriving in 7.5.

Both heroes added since Jubilee have been men, The Hood in Season 9.5 and Gorr in Season 10, which is why the count has stayed at 19 since July. For more detail on how the roster has grown, the how many heroes in marvel rivals page tracks the total over time, and our jubilee marvel rivals guide covers the newest woman on the list in depth.

We would add one honest caution. A count like this goes out of date the day a new hero ships. The plan is to rerun the check whenever our roster file changes, and the date at the top of the list is the date it was last confirmed.

How to Check a Hero Yourself

If a new hero arrives before we update this list of Marvel Rivals female characters, you do not need to wait for us. Open the hero's page on the Marvel Rivals Wiki and look at the gender line in the infobox on the right; for duos and heroes with an alternate form it often has two entries, as Cloak & Dagger, Peni Parker and Venom do. Then read the opening sentence, which on almost every hero page states the role and the hero's number in the release order. Those two lines are all this page is built from.

For the role itself, the official site at marvelrivals.com is the higher authority, and it is worth a look whenever a new hero is announced. For anything about costumes, such as whether a skin changes a hero's gender presentation the way Lady Loki does, the hero's costume list on the wiki is the place to look, and it is also how we confirmed that no Lady Deadpool skin exists.

Frequently asked questions

How many female characters are in Marvel Rivals?

19 of the 54 heroes, as tallied from the Marvel Rivals Wiki on October 21, 2026: 4 Vanguards, 10 Duelists and 5 Strategists. If you count Cloak & Dagger, a duo with a female Dagger, the number is 20.

How many female Strategists are there?

Five: Invisible Woman, Jubilee, Luna Snow, Mantis and White Fox. Six if you include Cloak & Dagger, because Dagger is female.

How many female Vanguards are there?

Four: Angela, Emma Frost, Peni Parker and Rogue. Vanguard has the fewest women of any role, out of 14 Vanguards in total.

Who is the newest female hero in Marvel Rivals?

Jubilee, a Strategist and the 52nd hero, who arrived in Season 9.0, "The Mystery of Thebes", on July 10, 2026. The two heroes added after her, The Hood and Gorr, are both male.

Is Dagger counted as a female character?

Dagger is female, but she is not a separate hero; she is half of Cloak & Dagger, which the wiki treats as one Strategist. That is why we give both figures, 19 without the duo and 20 with it.

Is Loki a female character in Marvel Rivals?

Not in our count. The wiki's infobox lists Loki's gender as genderfluid, and the page describes him with he/him. The Lady Loki costume re-records every voice line and changes the hero's portrait and icon, but it is a costume for the same hero.

Is there a Lady Deadpool in Marvel Rivals?

No. Deadpool is listed as male, and his costume list on the wiki has no female version. He does have a voice line joking about how good he would look in a "Ladypool" skin, which is where some of the confusion comes from.

Who are the Marvel Rivals girls in the Duelist role?

Ten Duelists are women: Black Cat, Black Widow, Elsa Bloodstone, Hela, Magik, Phoenix, Psylocke, Scarlet Witch, Squirrel Girl and Storm. That is the largest group by number, because Duelist is also the largest role.
